Large number of drought displaced families from Southern Somalia

Dobley (Sunatimes) At least fifty displaced families fleeing the ravaging drought in southern Somalia have reached border towns of Dobley and Liboi along the Kenyan-Somali common border.

Osman Mohamed Hassan, one of the displaced people from Dinsor district in Bay region told Bar-kulan that he faced several life-threatening hurdles as they trekked for several days to reach to Liboi town in northern Kenya.

Osman narrated that two of his young children both aged below five years of age died of starvation on his way to Kenya in search of food and water.

Large number of drought displaced families from Southern Somalia have been reaching border town of Dobley for the last couple of days, heading to refugee camps in Dadaab in northern Kenya in search of desperately needed food, water and medical care.
