Bosaso (Sunatimes) Hundreds of drought displaced people from
Qallafe area in the Somali region of Ethiopia camping in refugee camps in
Bosaso town are facing tough blowing winds due to harsh weather condition in
the area.
Some of the residents in the area told Bar-kulan that life
threatening strong monsoon winds have badly worsened their already ailing
situation in the camps, blowing up their makeshift houses.
They said their impoverished shelters made of sheets and plastic
bags risk infernos that might erupt any time in the area since the blowing
winds can collect sparkling-fire, torching their makeshift houses in the area.
Because of the harsh drought, they fled from the regions of Bay,
Bakool, Lower Shabelle and Middle Shabelle in southern Somalia seeking for food
and water.
Earlier, several families have been moved out of the area in fear
of devastating strong winds blowing to mountainous areas in Bosaso.
