Mogadishu (Sunatimes) Somalia’s head of immigration department,
Abdullahi Gafow, has urged those in possession of the old Somali Passport (Green
Passport) to immediately get the new passport (ePassport) as its validity ends
on October 30th, this year.
Mr. Gafow called for the Djibouti and Saudi government to
immediately cease issuing visas for Somalia’s old passport holders, saying that
countries like Uganda have already stopped issuing visas to green passport
holders.
He said Somalia’s foreign Affairs ministry wrote a letter to the
Saudi government complaining about Saudi’s recognition of old passport.
Lastly, Mr. Gafow said Somalis can easily obtain their new
passport (e-Passport) inside Somalia and several other countries in the world.
