Cape town (Sunatimes) South African police have seized a minibus carrying khat (narcotic leaves) packed in a bag and arrested fourteen Somalis onboard for allegedly ferrying the narcotic leaves to Cape Town, South Africa.

Police intercepted the minibus carrying the consignment and fourteen Somali nationals from Johannesburg heading to Cape Town.

The driver of the minibus, Abdi Mahad, told Bar-kulan that police officers manning a checkpoint located at outskirt of Cape Town have seized the narcotics after searching a bag owned by one of the passengers in the minibus and found khat packed in the bag.

All the passengers were later taken to a nearby police station where they would be held until Monday when they will be arraigned in court for having illegally in possession of narcotics.
