Hundreds of new arrivals disembarked from the trucks ferrying them
to Mogadishu at SYL monument in Waberi district, where they immediately
received a helping hand from area administration and sympathetic locals in the
district who provided them with desperately needed food and water before
joining other IDPs in Mogadishu.
Mogadishu experiences a daily influx of drought stricken refugees
seeking food and water, with a daily estimate of 30 families from hardest hit
regions of Bay, Bakol, and Gedo.
