Nairobi (Sunatimes) The
United States Government has welcomed the appointment of the new transitional
Prime Minister of Somalia, Dr. Abdiwali Mohamed Ali.
The government said that it
is encouraged at the speed with which the Transitional Federal Government
President Sheikh Sharif made the Premier appointment.
In a press release made by
the American Embassy in Nairobi, US government pledged to closely work with the
new prime minister to support the Djibouti Peace Process and the completion of
the transitional tasks such as the draft constitution, greater fiscal
transparency and reforming the transitional federal parliament and
other institutions.
The United States urged the
Parliament of Somalia to speed up the approval of the new prime minister and
the cabinet he is going to build.
Lastly, the press release
urged the TFG to hold more consistent consultations with the Somali regions,
ASWJ, and the broader civil society.
