Mogadishu (Sunatimes) Moderate Islamist group Ahlusuna National Salvation Forces (ANSF) expressed disappointment Monday at the resignation of the Somali Prime Minister. The group termed the quiting as dangerous to the federal government and the fight against Al-Shabaab militias.
Sheikh Abu Yusuf Al-Qaddi, the spokesman of ANSF told Bar-kulan that the resignation of Farmajo could bring about impediments to the peace process and attempts to wipe out Al-Shabaab from the nation.
However, Al-Qaddi vowed to continue their fight against Al-Shabaab.
Abu Yusuf said they are ready to take part in any effort meant to save and bring peace to Somalia.
The former Prime Minister of Somalia Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo has yesterday resigned from the post of premiership during a press conference held in Mogadishu. Demonstrations took place in Mogadishu in the wake of the Prime Minister’s resignation.
Pressure from the international community and IGAD member states is said to have pushed the premier to resign.
