    Somalia: Government Troops Close to Beledweyn

    Spokesman for the shabelle Valley Mohamud Nuur Kabajoof said that they are very close to the Town of Balet weyn.

Spokesman for the shabelle Valley Mohamud Nuur Kabajoof said that they are very close to the Town of Balet weyn.

Beledweyn (Sunatimes) Al Shabaab militia and fighters from Shabelle on Thursday battled in parts of Hiran region in central Somalia.

The heavy battle which involved the use of immense artillery bombs began after Al shabaab fighters attacked key military bases controlled by Shabelle Valley in Burta Qowlet just outside of Beletweyne, the regional capital of Hiran region, 


At least three people, from two warring sides, have been so far confirmed dead and more others injured during the fighting.
The warring factions have both claimed victory but residents in the disputed areas have confirmed the deaths of more than 10 ten people, all belonging to both sides.

Spokesman for the shabelle Valley Mohamud Nuur Kabajoof said that they are very close to the Town of Balet weyn.
Meanwhile Ahlu suna wal jamaa has displayed bodies of alleged alshabab fighters killed in the recent combat.

Spokesman for the group Abu yussuf has pointed out they have killed over 50 alshabab fights including senor commanders.

There are reports of massive fleeing from the Balet weyn in fear of the fighting spilling over to the city
