Mogadishu (Sunatimes) The traditional elders in Baidoa town of Bay region have strongly condemned Al-Shabaab militias in the region regarding the arrests of some local elders in Hudur district of Bakool region

Abdi Ali, a senior traditional leader in Baidoa said it’s disturbing to see Al-Shabaab carry out such acts and has termed the move “unacceptable”.

Abdi said the militias have transgressed and failed to respect the Somali tradition and the rules set by the Islamic law as well.

He urged the senior leadership of Al-Shabaab in Bay and Bakool regions to immediately set the elders free and avoid such actions in the future.
