Mogadishu (Sunatimes) Police forces of Somalia’s national security agency have today released a number of protesters who were in detention for the last two days. The protesters were captured by government security forces while holding demonstrations in Mogadishu.

The release of the protesters comes after yesterday’s speech of the Prime Minister, who said that protesters are entitled to carry out peaceful demonstrations to express their feelings.

Among those released were two journalists, Mohamed Amin Abukar and Ahmed Ali Kahie  from Kulmiye local radio.

Government police warned protesters against further congregations and demonstrations, which they said could instigate insecurity.

Crowds of people have been demonstrating in Mogadishu to show their support for Prime Minister Mohamed Abdullahi.
