Cairo (Sunatimes) Somali community in Egypt has strongly opposed the resignation of the prime minister of the Somali Transitional Federal government, Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo, calling it ‘unacceptable’ move.

Abdirahman Yabarow Sharey, one of the Somalis living in Egypt said the community is outraged with the announcement of the proposed departure of the prime minister within 30 days, adding that the move is horrendous to the Somali people as well as the peace efforts.

Asma Dalha Abbas, a Somali student in Cairo expressed her disappointment with the proposed stepping down of the Premier, saying that she shares her sentiment with the demonstrators in Mogadishu and urged them to continue their protests against the move.

The community said Prime Minister Farmajo’s government has accomplished many tasks within the short period of six months in existence, and termed it the first government to have done tangible progress since the fall of the Somali central government in 1991.
