Al Shabab says the money should be surrended within the course of this month.

Burhakaba (Sunatimes) The militias of Al Shabab have once again asked businessmen in Burhakabo district of Baay region to pay money, which they demanded to be paid urgently.

The militias want the money from the telecommunication companies, money transfer companies and the businessmen which they said will be used in their fighting against the troops of the transitional federal government of Somalia and AMISOM.

The amount of money Al Shabab demands from the business people in the town is not identified, but some of the business people have already complained they could not raise money to the group.

Al Shabab says the money should be surrended within the course of this month.

The order of the militias was seen as a blatant robbery which petrified the businessmen and the community at large drawing concerns of the safety of the public wealth.

Al Shabab militias are currently facing financial instability manifested by their plea for money from the general public. It is believed that they have evacuated from some areas for reasons of financial constraints. They areĀ also doing all efforts to get some extra funds.

The Al Shabab militias have been extorting money from businessmen and residents living in the areas under their control.
