Mogadishu (Sunatimes) Reports coming from Baidoa town, the capital of Bay region indicate that there is a row between senior Al Shabab officials in the region over the allocation and management of revenue accrued from business people and aid agencies operating in the region.
In a meeting attended by Al Shabab officials in the region, Abdullahi Maalim, deputy leader of Al Shabab in the region accused Mahad Omar Abdikareen, Al Shabab leader of Bay region of embezzling the money collected from the few aid agencies and the business people in Baidoa town.
The row between the two head is largely felt in Baidoa following financial crisis of Al Shabab in the region, while fearing attacks from the TFG forces.

On October last year, Al Shabab senior treasury officer Ali Bashir Abdi went away with unknown amount of money from Al Shabab’s administration in Kismayo town.
