Associated Somali journalists and press freedom activists gathered to honor on 3 May 2, 2011 the international press freedom day,

Media owners, journalists, and other activists for the press freedom has issued that the situation in Somalia affected the press freedom,

At least 10 journalists were killed in the past three years following media crackdowns, and also rampant attacks against the media workers, along with growing threats that caused many of the collogues to fled from the country ,

Also the journalists subjected that Alshabab has threatened to kill some of the journalists working in the capital of Mogadishu.
