    Somalia:Al Shabab imposes curfew on Bu’ale town

    A resident in Bu’ale who spoke to Bar-kulan criticized the move by Al Shabab to impose a curfew on the town, citing that it has the potential to cripple business in the area.

A resident in Bu’ale who spoke to Bar-kulan criticized the move by Al Shabab to impose a curfew on the town, citing that it has the potential to cripple business in the area.

Gedo (Sunatimes) Militias of Al Shabab have today imposed curfew on the district of Bu’ale in Middle Jubba region in southern Somalia.

The curfew will commence from 7 pm to 6 am local time as instructed by the officials of Al Shabab in the region, and will remain effective for seven consecutive days.

Kathar Osmaan Raash, an Al Shabab official in the region,  said the reason behind the curfew is to tighten the security of the town which has recently  seen insecurity activities.

A resident in Bu’ale who spoke to Bar-kulan criticized the move by Al Shabab to impose a curfew on the town, citing that it has the potential to cripple business in the area.

Separately, the militias have imposed restrictions on transport trucks going to Gedo region and Dobley district close to Kenya border, blocking big lorries carrying food from Bu’ale city of middle Jubba region.

Earlier this week, Al Shabab has turned back some Lorries to Afmadow in the lower Jubba region. The Lorries were heading to Dhobley but were refused to go. The militias have also refused food stuffs to be taken to Gedo where the government forces have recently taken.
